which models are rarest?, sedans

Hi everyone!
I have been madly trying to find out some info on how many 1000's were originally produced, how many are estimated to still be around and which models are becoming most collectable or rare.
In particular 2 door sedans vs 4 door sedans.
Has anyone found any info on this or able to shar their own knowledge?
Regards Maiden
I'd say ute are probably the rarest

And no-one likes 4 doors... ewww
I'd agree with Neil.

Very hard to find a together ute. I've been looking for 5 years now.

'Collectable' in the long run, i'd say would be a original KB10.

2 Door Vs 4 Door...... Matter of taste. I'm another for the 2 Door's.
Since looking at 1000s for the first time this time last year, i have only seen my wagon for sale and another completely rusty bucket that an old bloke was selling. Last one before that was Lagwagons white vb10 on 1200.com. Which was quite a while ago. Ive seen quite a few coupes and other models for sale. I know of about 10 different wagons on the internet from all over the world as far as ive seen. But dunno thats just my observation.
I would say the ute as well, or they are the hardest to find for sale but that doesn't mean the rarest. The coupe has to be running a close second I would have thought.
Awesome, thanks for the thaughts so far guys
And how rare would it be to find vehicles that have matching engine number to build plate etc?
M
Actually Ive owned quite a few utes and a few wagons but always find the utes for sale in the last 5 years more than the Vans.

The problem with the utes is the rust, so many unfinished projects for sale, just look at gumtree and see how many utes come up more often than Vans.

4 doors are very good looking and have better rear roof design than tudor sedan

Well I have the rareish ones then
A wagon I couldn't sell cause no-one seemed to want... and 2 x KB10's
None of these vehicles have their matching engines anymore
The coupe I couldnt sell, did so much work to it as a keeper I could enjoy and everyone loves it
had 128 watchers, over 2000 views and no one bid on it, sold it to Benny for 3900 and hope he
continues to perfect it further as I had time restrained towards the end of my ownership,
but its a perfect carto drive, looks great, steers, stops & goes awesome like a modern cars,
over 600 hours spent as a "keeper" but life changes & hopefully I'll get a good one in Jpn
again to do it all again, albeit the sigma GE brakes as maybe none where ever wrecked
just crushed as they should be or sent to some 5th world country.

It seems only a few peeps want these cars, but once you own a 1k its terminal & better
than owning many other cars, due to their simplicity and as my master mechanic uncle
would always say, those 1000s are a real pleasure and privilidge to work on.

All 1000s are getting thin on the ground own them all at once if you can,
I did at one stage - best time of my life!

+1 for the 2 door sedans,
and  was a coupe owner and daily driver for about 15 years,
I still have 2 parts wrecks coupes, the other two coupes i had went into bad hands when i sold them..
but Wagons are where it's at, I have two, now and very happy to have them.. .
4 doors deffinately have the best C pillar but the tiny ute front doors,  we have had many discussions about modding a 2 door or wagon with that section...

VB10 for the win..

(ps we can never get the "Mods" to update the banner with VB10 goodness.. )
Vb10s are the type of thing (as far as ive seen) that need to be in good condition to be sort after. I was lucky that the time i fell in love with the wagons, i happened to see Dave's for sale and waited a month for a reply cause he was in Japan at the time. What im saying by that is that there arent that many 'good' condition wagons around if any.

(Unofficial edit: i just realised both Neil and David's wagons were also the ones for sale within the last year.)

Neil i think your wagon didnt sell mostly due to your honesty about the rust in it and other small things you listed.

as for coupes ive seen quite a few for sale lately including Dave's just recently

Back on  another topic, anyone have any documentation of how many were originally produced?

estimations on how many are left?

Good questions Maiden
