I've just sold my ute, and most of the spares. You may see the ute around if you're up in the north. The bloke who bought it (Charlie) reckons he'll be driving around regularly. I hope he enjoys it as much as I enjoyed rebuilding the driveline. I'm...

One of the best 1000's around. At 625kg the car is light as a Mini but has the power of 1600cc. Brand new Engine and clutch, less then 100kms since rebuild: • A15 block bored 60 thou, with all new bearings, machining, etc • Duralite pistons • Worked high...

Hi guys, I've dropped the price to $10,000 and will consider offers. The money and effort that's gone into this car is more than 5 times the asking price. You'll never build its equal for this price.

Hey Bina08, sorry I missed your question. It's the standard ute diff, and seems to cope well. I've run the engine up to ~7000 rpm and tested the traction at a nearby industrial estate, but it's only done about 100kms since the rebuild. I have a spare diff...

Thanks for the info on the heater, the last image is really similar to one I have. I've been too busy with new house and baby to play with the toy, so as of tomorrow it'll be posted for sale on Gumtree. Cheers Craig

That's not what i have in my 1000. It doesn't look like the 1200 heater images on techwiki either. I'll take a photo when I pick it up from a mate and see if anyone recognises it.

Cheers mate. Does anyone know much about heaters in Dato's? Were they standard in all 1000's or just a few models?

What's a face book? Kidding. Looks like you've got a few nights work ahead of you. Who ever set up the site has done a great job it's easy to upload images.....it must be if I'm doing it.

Mate, good to see your project. The R31 rotors sounds like a whole lot of breaks on a little ute. You'll be doin endo's! I guess you need the 15's to fit the brakes under. Hard to believe you can fit them under the car.

I'm about to fit 120Y discs to the front of mine. There's a bloke I know who's been racing a 1000 coupe for years and he's made me the same kit he uses. So far it's cost me $180. I'll take some photos (with a proper camera) when i get started.

Yep, it had mags.....and Tiger Mica gold paint (commo colour), custom grille, custom rear with commo wagon tail lights (they must've liked commodores), XU1 flutes in the front guards, alloy drop tank, cobra race seats and harnesses, tasmanian oak lined...

Hi All, I'm new to this site and relatively new to Dato's. I'm just finishing off my first Datsun project, which is a 2 year build of a heavily customised 1000 ute. It's the typical rebuild story, where a 6 week touch up turned into a 24 month overhall...
