Personally I would just leave the std diff alone and get something with discs and get it shortened, hilux diffs are a good option. At least that way you can get almost any ratio and no heartache when you blow the stock diff with a custom disc setup!

Good stuff but I have to ask.....how many bloody 1000's are over in the west? It's as if Japan sent them all there and you let a few escape to the east! Keep on getting them back on the road and a few more might escape and I'll be able to increase the...

Hi all, finally got my front panel back from painter, really love the look of the 1000's without a bumper so that's how it will stay. Also got stuck into polishing the GX twin carbs and manifold but don't think I will worry about doing the body of...

What hat about a setup like this on 1000? It's currently in a 1200 ute and was wondering would it go into a 1000? I'm pretty sure it's a 180 diff which sure would look trick.

Check out eBay at the moment there is a sunny with a A15 and 4 speed, good for a rebuild or there is a pretty hot A12 for 5k (which I think is high) and I'm pretty sure noteven on this site has a motor for sale. It's not that the L16 won't fit it's just a...

Are you going to have this car registered? I think that the cost of all the bits you need for the L16 and then to get it engineered will far out weigh the cost of a nice hot little A series motor. You can do some pretty awesome things with the A series...

That is a shame about the MX5 boys but they are probably still upset about owning an MX5! I would just try and use your harness and add into it for the mazda bits, it would probably be more cost effective that way. I know what you mean about cash, they...

G'day all. Just thought I'd put my rims up to see what you guys think! I've got three of them done and will finish the last one when my fingers heal after 12 hours of sanding and polishing, no fun but very rewarding when you see the result. The rims...

I can't confirm if they do or not but they are one in the same, Scott's get the rubbers from spectrum as they are the manufacturer. I would tip that the rare spares stuff is also spectrum. You wouldn't think there would be to many repro mobs out there...

Hi all. Can anyone tell me how much further back the 1200 mounts are compared to the 1000? It's just that I am dummying up the motor and the mounts that I have from when I bought the car, driver side was 40mm and passenger side was 30mm . Can anybody...

I would say the ute as well, or they are the hardest to find for sale but that doesn't mean the rarest. The coupe has to be running a close second I would have thought.

Considering a good very clean 1000 will only sell for about $5000 it surprises me that someone would pay that. Surely you get an old one refurbished for well under that money!
