not sure I'd shorten the fork at all Chris, this would reduce the travel on the clutch.. the small "dent" can be done with a ball pein and turns out very neat..

I am pretty sure the 56A would fit without having to modify the tunnel. If you need to modify the tunnel to make it fit you should shorten the the clutch fork, this will help with clearance issues and save you having to modify the tunnel. People have...

in reality for a stock A10, you can't go past the Hitachi they came with.. if you had a mild cam in your motor, you could look at a pair of SU's to perk it up somewhat..

I was looking for around the $800 mark for the pair. They have to be tuned for any sort of engine. If you are new to carbs it might be a good idea to stick to a downdraft carb like a 28/36 DCD or 32/36 DGAV.

I have a pair of weber DCOE 40mm carbs, freshly rebuilt and jetted for a worked A12. Also have a NOS [brand new] round port head. I have a dual intake manifold also but not willing to part with it, it is suited for A14/15 head (oval shaped intake ports).

All, I now have a 56A 5 speed for my B10 rally car. The obvious difference between that box and the 56 4 speed in the car is the clutch mechanism. Can someone suggest a tidy way of making it work please. Edit in: I didn't get any clutch...
